Ben Vorlich is our nearest Munro which dominates the skyline looking out to the front of the Hotel. This site for walking and hill climbing routes local to us is useful. RAMBLERS / WALKERS We are located on the Rob Roy long distance walking route which runs from Drymen to Killiecrankie CYCLING The Lowland Highland Trail, part of National Cycle Network Route 7, the route uses forest tracks, traffic-free trails and minor roads and is regarded as one of the highlights of the National Cycle Network. FISHING Boat hire is available - Drummond Trout Farm - Boat Hire . The Clachan Cottage Hotel welcomes fishermen. Fishing is permitted off the shore of the hotel or you can hire boats from the Drummond Estate and fish most of the 6.5 miles of the Loch. Boat hire and permits are available from Drummond Estates Boat Hire on 01567830400. Loch Earn is teeming with brown trout and also hosts some rainbow trout, artic charr, grayling and an occasional salmon. The season runs from 15 March to 6 October |
